The question is less a matter of "who" but more a matter of "how much". Just too many other players already under contract. I don't think he'll be qualified, and I don't think he'll be back. But it wouldn't be a huge shock to me if he wasn't qualified. Olver might be a numbers casualty, but I suspect he will be back on another modest deal. I'm thinking he signs for a couple years at $1.5 million or so. McGinn appears to be a player on the upside of his development, and, without a ton of leverage, is probably looking for (and at) a shorter deal here. Could the Avalanche have signed Matt Hunwick just to limit Ryan Wilson's bargaining power a bit? Maybe not on purpose, but the number of defensemen under contract does give the Avs a bit of leverage over Wilson, who has 2 more years before hitting unrestricted free agency. I'm guessing he signs a 2-year deal to get him to unrestricted status, at something around the $2-$2.5 million range. Downie is two years away from becoming a UFA. Mueller will probably have to stick with something near his $2.5 QO.unless the Avs decide his concussion worries are not worth the risk. David Jones just got $4 million a year for being a. That's not terrible, but it also means the player we saw last year (16 points in 32 games) is closer to the real Peter Mueller than the 20 points in 15 games Mueller before he was Blakeinated. Mueller now has 250 NHL games under his belt, and is pretty much a 1/2 a point per game person. Johnson is also eligible for arbitration (Duchene and O'Reilly are a year away from that) and might be the best candidate to do so. I'm guessing $3-$3.5, probably on a shorter deal. Johnson clearly has talent, but has under-performed a bit on the ice. This is another negotiation that might be very interesting, perhaps even difficult. I've used Tyler Myers before as a barometer for EJ, but Myer's $5.5 million cap hit is, well, a bit fucking ridiculous. The 3rd no-brainer-he'll-be-back player is Erik Johnson (another Brisson client). I think O'Reilly cashes in nicely on his 55-point season and could be looking at the $3-$3.5 million range.Įrik Johnson. Cogliano is currently making $2.4 million in a deal that will eat up one of his UFA-eligible years. In his first three years, the closest player I could find statistically to O'Reilly was Andrew Cogliano, a good player with nowhere near the intangibles that O'Reilly has shown. Radar is a tough to monetize because his offensive numbers in his first two years were fairly poor. (side note: Duchene's agent is Pat Brisson. I think these would be very interesting negotiations. The Avalanche don't usually do long-term deals and Duchene might feel he'd be better of signing a shorter deal and then hope for a couple of big seasons before cashing in. Based on those numbers, you'd probably place Duchene more like the $4.5 million range.if he and the Avs were willing to go long-term. Each of those players are making between $5 million and $5.5 million that also cover a couple of UFA years. At this point in his career, he has somewhat similar career numbers to James Neal, John Tavares and Bobby Ryan, although he is a shade behind in part due to the injury trouble last year. There is no doubt that he will be back with the Avs next year, the only question is how much. Duchene has 4 more years before he becomes a free agent. It's really more a matter of which players they want to keep.and at what price. As AD has pointed out, the Avs aren't really in big danger of being poached here. Players who don't receive a QO become unrestricted free agents.įirst, here are the 9 RFAs the Avalanche have (technically, Zach Cohen, Jonas Holos, Trevor Cann and Jake Newton are RFAs as well, but clubs usually don't tender minor leaguers and I don't expect any exceptions for these four). As a general rule, though, NHL clubs rarely try to sign other teams' RFAs. Players receiving a QO can still theoretically sign with another NHL club, but the original team has the right to match and will receive a bunch of draft picks if they decide not to match. NHL GMs - Dale Tallon included - have until Monday, June 25th to make a qualifying offer to that player (ranging between 100 and 110% of last year's salary). Read on, and see how this breaks down.Īny player without a contract who won't be at least 27 or have 7 NHL seasons accrued on July 1st is considered a restricted free agent. There are 9 and I don't believe all are a lock to return with the Avs next year. Today, I take on a slightly larger task, as I examine the upcoming RFAs for the Avalanche. Last week, I looked at the Avs' pending UFAs (namely, Shane O'Brien and Jay McClement).

How Do Weather Apps Work, and Why Are They Sometimes Wrong? At some point, those little disturbances will overwhelm whatever forecast signal we were relying on. Imagine trying to track down every butterfly and all the disruptions to the air that you might create in the process. We can’t possibly account for every tiny disturbance. A tiny disturbance now can have huge and unexpected consequences later, meaning that after even just ten days, weather forecasts become almost useless. If you’ve heard some version of the saying “a butterfly flaps its wings in Brazil and causes a tornado to touch down in Texas,” that’s the idea behind chaos theory. Why does this happen? The answer lies in an idea central to meteorology-chaos theory. A five-day and seven-day forecast is fairly accurate, but they are less reliable beyond that range. By ten days, forecasts are only accurate approximately 50% of the time. The NOAA says that, on average, a five-day forecast is correct about 90% of the time, while a seven-day forecast can accurately predict the weather 80% of the time. While everyone can think of that time or two (or maybe more) that a meteorologist got things super wrong, the reality is that in 2023 weather forecasts are, on average, extremely good. As a Meteorologist, Here are the Weather Apps I Use.Here Are the Most Accurate Weather Apps for My City.Who Has the Most Accurate Weather Forecast for Your Area?.How Do Weather Apps Work, and Why Are They Sometimes Wrong?. I couldn’t even get into the game because it kept repeating those messages and trying to connect even after I restarted my phone and closed the app completely. With reasonable security measures, Sticky Password’s cloud service is a perfectly safe place to store your passwords. So take due care! If you pay for the Premium plan, your passwords will be synced to every device you own, making sure the rest of your passwords are available when you need them. If you do forget that password, you’ll lose access to everything else. Once you’re using a password manager, it’s the only password you need to remember! So make sure you choose a memorable one-they won’t be able to help you if you forget it. While using short, simple passwords or the same password for every website makes life easier for us, it also makes it easier for hackers to crack them. Today we juggle so many passwords that it’s tempting to compromise on security just to make it more manageable. In each subsection, I’ll explore what the app offers and then share my personal take. Sticky Password is all about secure password management, and I’ll list its features in the following eight sections. Sticky Password Review: What’s In It For You? Read on to discover if Sticky Password is the right password manager for you. If you’re doing the same, I hope this review will change your mind. While a number of my family members are tech-savvy and use password managers, others have been using the same simple password for decades, hoping for the best. I also contacted the customer support team of Sticky Password for a missing feature in the Mac version, and got a response (see more below). I haven’t tried Sticky Password before, so I installed the 30-day free trial on my iMac and thoroughly tested it over several days. But it doesn’t have all of the features of its competitors, and I’m keen to evaluate the options as I write this series of reviews. It integrates well with macOS and iOS, suggests and automatically fills in passwords (both for websites and applications), and warns me when I have used the same password on multiple sites. Over the last few years, I’ve been using Apple’s iCloud Keychain instead. And when I left the job, there were no concerns about who I might share the passwords. My managers were able to give me access to web services without me knowing the passwords, and remove access when I no longer needed it. I used LastPass both as an individual and a team member for five or six years from 2009. My name is Adrian Try, and password managers have been making my life easier for over a decade. Generate Strong, Unique Passwords for Each Website Sticky Password Review: What’s In It For You?.What I Don’t Like: Mac version lacks important features. But I suspect that most people would be better served by one of the apps listed in the Alternatives section of this review. Make use of the 30-day free trial to see if it meets your needs. If Sticky Password’s strengths appeal to you, add it to your shortlist. In fact, LastPass’s free plan is an attractive alternative to Sticky Password’s Premium. You’d be better off using LastPass, whose free plan allows you to manage an unlimited number of passwords on multiple devices. Most of us have several and need our passwords available everywhere. Although a free plan is offered, it’s limited to a single device. If you’re looking for a free password manager, Sticky Password isn’t the best alternative. And it’s the only password manager I’m aware of that allows you to purchase the program outright, giving relief to users suffering from subscription fatigue-at a price. That will appeal to some security-conscious users. It gives you the option of syncing your passwords over your local network rather than storing them in the cloud. I’m not sure many Apple users will find it worthwhile unless they also have the program installed on a PC.īut Sticky Password has two key advantages over the competition. There’s no Security Dashboard, no import, and no app passwords. Unfortunately, if you’re a Mac user you’ll have to pay the same amount of money for an inferior product. If you’re a Windows user, Sticky Password offers quite a number of features for $29.99/year, and that’s more affordable than comparable password managers. If you’re not already using a password manager, it’s time to start. In 1923, Hermann Oberth-considered a father of modern rocketry, along with Robert H. No matter what, Packers fans are a welcoming bunch. However, that question was just set up too perfectly for others ready to troll the Bears. Here's a sampling of the best, including some who showed that Packers fans are Midwest nice. "I'm a bears fan going to Lambeau Field week 18. This topic came to light last week when a Bears fan on Reddit - u/RevenantMain44 - was looking for help on how to prepare for Chicago's Week 18 matchup against the Packers months from now at Lambeau Field on the heels of training camp beginning for both teams. Will it be just as fun for the visiting fans? But most of all, you can expect a good time inside a packed stadium with playoff implications likely on the line. And if you want a thrill you can also take a ride down Ariens Hill in Titletown district. Of course, you also have to tailgate just so the grill can keep you semi warm. Maybe your best blaze orange hunting apparel. Several hand warmers to avoid wind chills near 0. Seasoned Green Bay Packers fans know the routine for a trip to Lambeau Field on Game Day, especially in early January for the regular season finale. Brady had 271 yards and a touchdown, for for the third straight week the Bucs showed that they still have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball.Watch Video: Matt LaFleur on the challenges of leading a young Packers team into training camp Rodgers went 27/35 for 255 yards and two touchdowns with an interception with most of those yards coming in the first half. Brady hit Russell Gage on a one yard TD pass, but the two point conversion was unsuccessful and the Packers held on to win to improve to 2-1. Tampa Bay wouldn’t score again until there were 14 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Tampa got a field goal in the third quarter to bring the Pack to with in one possession. The Packers offense went stagnant coming out of the halftime break, but luckily for Green Bay the Bucs couldn’t get into the end zone either. It looked like Rodgers and the Packers would add to their advantage right before halftime but an Aaron Jones fumble on the goal line helped keep the Bucs in the game going into the second half. Green Bay’s defense held the Bucs on the next possession, as they did almost all game long, and the Packers would stretch their lead to 14-3 with an Allen Lazard TD catch midway through the second quarter. The four time MVP started off the game a perfect 5/5 and finished off the opening drive of the game with a five yard pass to Romeo Doubs to put the Packers up 7-3. Rodgers and the Packers came out of the gates firing, scoring on their first two drives of the game. It was more of the same for Tom Brady and the Bucs on Sunday who didn’t punch the ball into the end zone until their final drive. The Bucs offense was suspect in the first two games, but their defense got the job done to get them to 2-0 coming into Week 3. Brady for the last time?Īaron Rodgers and Tom Brady squared off for perhaps the last time ever on Sunday from Tampa, and while neither quarterback has started their season particularly well, fireworks were expected on Sunday afternoon. Green Bay just returned off a three-game losing road trip. In a game that was headlined by two of the best quarterbacks of this generation, the defense was the difference maker as the Green Bay Packers took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. When the Green Bay Packers play the Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field on Sunday afternoon, they will try to end their five-game losing run. |
